Word of Light Community Church is group of servants for Christ that have been led to come together as a non-denominational church in order to reach those who don’t have a church to call home. Those who are hungry for God, wanting to know Him better, and just needing a place to be themselves… To admit we are not perfect and actually expect help from one another! That is what true church is all about.
We certainly don’t have it all together. But we are sincere about helping each other, sincere about worship, and sincere about finding practical ways to apply God’s Word to today’s lifestyles… We strive to find the Scriptural balance between Spirit & Truth. Open to heart-felt but unprovoked worship, open to the Spirit’s work in our lives, and solidly rooted in His Ancient Words given to all generations. Using these Words to address some of today’s most pressing problems: Such as protecting marriages and families, discovering solid reasons to believe, discovering our own unique gifts and purposes in Christ, understanding world events in light of God’s Word, and helping a depressed, burned-out society finally find their true meaning! If this kind of atmosphere sounds refreshing and relevant to your life, I ask you to join us for a visit!
Dress code is casual! We believe that no one should miss being in God’s House because they feel they cannot dress to please. Therefore, we all dress casual so that anyone will feel welcome to “fit in”… So - come in a dress, come in slacks or come in jeans and a t-shirt… Just come!
We would honestly love to have you as our guest. If you don’t come here… For goodness sake, go somewhere!! Time is short, and there is much to do for God’s Kingdom!

Our Vision
Jesus Christ has already given the Church His vision in Scriptures. Our purpose on this earth as His disciples is not to create our own vision, but to understand and accept our role in His:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. (Mark 12:29,30 KJV)
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself… (Mark 12:31 KJV)
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, (Matthew 28:19 RSV)
…baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (Matthew 28:19 RSV)
…teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; (Matthew 28:20 RSV)(Note: KJV - King James Version / RSV - Revised Standard Version)
We are to obey His W.O.R.D.S.
W - Worship God (express our love for Him above all others).
O - Others loved as ourselves.
R - Reach the unsaved of this world (make disciples).
D - Declare our faith publicly (through baptism).
S - Students continually growing in the knowledge Christ.
Our Mission
What part do we have in Christ’s vision for the Church here at Word of Light Community Church?
What we, at this church, feel we have been called to do is discern the times we are living in; understand where we are falling short of His vision in this generation and this community; and address these challenges with the love, guidance and power of Christ in our hearts.
The family is one of God’s most fundamental building blocks for His work on this earth. And, it is under relentless attack in our generation. Without the fortitude of the family, our mission will fail. It is our goal to strengthen family values, redefine the roles of husband, wife and children as God intended, and help those who have been hurt through Satan’s attacks on the family today.
Jesus’ prayer for the church was to have unity, without which our mission will also fail. It is our goal to create a unity in this local fellowship as was illustrated in the New Testament. Where we intimately trust, confess, pray, support, and correct each other as believers are instructed. Church must be where the hurting feel confident that they may go for help and healing. Church must be a place of acceptance where we can reveal our weaknesses and expect love and support.
The disciples of Christ must grow in spirit and in truth to truly be effective on our mission. It is our goal to create an atmosphere of faith and real worship; to grow the disciples of Christ into maturity through relevant and practical teachings that may be applied to daily living; and to address current issues of our world in light of God’s Word.
Lastly, the majority of our society is filled with hurting people who look to all of the wrong things to find purpose. It is our ultimate goal to reach non-believers as Christ did. We want to be brazen in our message and humble in our attitudes. Reaching people by first showing that we genuinely care and offering Christ as the answer to their need or pain.
Our Mission then, in summary, is for this church to strengthen and protect our families; to restore a loving unity and support within the body of Christ; to assist believers in their spiritual growth through true worship, and through relevant, practical study of the Word of God; and to reach a lost world with genuine care, teaching them true purpose for life.
We Believe
We affirm our belief in one God, the creator and sustainer of all things, who exists eternally in the perfect unity of three persons - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are one in essence, purpose and will, but each distinct in person and function.
We affirm that the Father is God. The first person of the Trinity and the Head of all that God is and does. He is the designer of creation and the author of man’s salvation. By His will was the eternal Son offered as a propitiation for the iniquity of mankind. From the Father, the Son is sent forth. From the Father and the Son, the Holy Spirit proceeds.
We affirm that the Lord Jesus Christ is God. The second person of the Trinity and the only begotten Son of the Father. He was miraculously conceived and born into this world by a virgin named Mary through the work of the Holy Spirit. He came to this earth physically and bodily to give His life as a ransom for many. He will one day soon return to earth physically and bodily to receive all believers unto Himself. He lives forever as the only perfect God and perfect man: Two distinct natures inseparably united in one person. He is before all things and by Him all things exist. He is the Savior of mankind, our King of kings and Lord of lords.
We affirm that the Holy Spirit is God. The third person of the Trinity, proceeding from the Father and the Son. Active in the creating and ordering of the universe; He is the source of supernatural love, faith, and power to do God’s will on earth for the believer. The indwelling of the Spirit occurs at the conversion of every believer. The filling of the Spirit is fresh and ongoing in the life of the believer as they surrender and dedicate themselves continually to His perfect will. He works in the life of the believer as a Comforter, Teacher, Interceder, and Guide. He works in the world to convict the sinner, and restrain sin and Satan while they are upon the earth.
We affirm that God’s creative work was in six literal, historical days and that He is the Sustainer of that creation. This wondrous creation reveals His intelligent design and power, leaving man without excuse in acknowledging His existence and authority. Human beings were created, not evolved, in the very image of God. We are free moral agents, given the choice to accept or reject His love and forgiveness through the work of Christ our Savior.
We affirm that the Bible, consisting of both the Old and New Testaments, was written by men through supernatural inspiration of the Holy Spirit. That there are absolute truths that govern the hearts and affairs of men and these Scriptures are those absolutes. They are without error in their originals and the ultimate authority in all matters of life. They may be understood by all that would seek to know God’s will through the illumination of the Holy Spirit as their Teacher and Guide.
We affirm that Jesus Christ offered Himself as a sacrifice for the sins of man, according to the will of the Father. That He died, was buried and arose again bodily on the third day. His death fulfilled the penalty of sin before a just and righteous God. And, only through His sacrifice can we be saved from our sins and given life eternal. This salvation is our gift from Him if we but repent of sin and place our faith in Jesus as Savior. Our salvation depends upon that faith - alone - and nothing that we might do on our own.
We affirm that baptism is a clear command from God for all believers. That it should be a part of every believer’s experience, though not a requirement for salvation. This ordinance was instituted by Jesus Christ as part of the Great Commission, which stands as an act of obedience whereby the believer publicly identifies with the body of Christ through immersion. The act of baptism identifies us with what Christ has done through the symbolism of: (1) The dying to self and the old life of sin; (2) the cleansing of sins from our old life; (3) and, the rising again to a new way of life committed to Him. “Buried in the likeness of His death – raised in the likeness of His resurrection.”
